Our Curriculum
Alston’s Village Learning Center uses the FunShine Express® curriculum to support STREAM learning and whole-child development. Our approach encourages hands-on exploration, creativity, and social-emotional growth while aligning with Virginia early learning standards.
Learning focuses include literacy and language development, social-emotional learning, math and science exploration, music and movement, and creative expression. Monthly theme-based activities help children stay engaged while building confidence and a love for learning.
Our Programs
We offer age-appropriate programs designed to support children at every stage of early development. Each program balances structured learning with nurturing care in a safe and supportive environment.

Kindergarten readiness programs emphasizing early literacy, math skills, confidence, and positive peer engagement.

Before- and after-school care and seasonal programs that provide enrichment, academic reinforcement, and engaging activities.

A community-focused nonprofit offering youth programs, parent support, community events, and scholarship opportunities. Through our Village Promise, we support students throughout their educational journey and into college.

EVENT CHILDCARE
In addition to our learning programs, Alston’s Village offers on-site event childcare services to support families and organizations during special events. Our trained childcare professionals provide a safe, engaging environment so parents can enjoy their event with peace of mind.
Event childcare services are ideal for weddings, conferences, community events, and private gatherings. Children enjoy age-appropriate activities and supervised play in a secure setting.
